Immediately upon seeing Ghanaian artist Prince Gyasi’s photo prints, one is struck by the soulful and vibrant colors. Prince Gyasi is a visual artist using his iPhone and bright colors to expressthe emotions of his subjects. Prince Gyasi creates images that are bold, hopeful, and tell the stories of marginalized individuals who are often pushed aside in society. Most of the images are created in his hometown of Accra.
Gyasi co-founded BoxedKids, a nonprofit campaign focused on providing an education for those most in need. The name of the organization refers to being trapped or boxed in a place or situation. He believes education fosters leadership and is the key to alleviating poverty.
