Lives and works in Paris, France
Nù Barreto trained at the AEP Photography School and at the National School of Image of Gobelins, in Paris where he concluded his photographic studies in 1996. His work unites drawing, collage, recuperation and integrates the spectator in his artistic approach through the use of painting, photography, drawing and video. A committed artist, using strong symbolism expressed in forms, colours and motifs, Nù Barreto draws the eye to the many scourges: misery, suffering, discrimination....that plague the African continent.
His work is part of Collection Royale du Maroc (Morocco), Fundação PLMJ (Portugal), MuseuCapixaba do Negro MUCANE (Brazil), Collection de l’Union Economique et Monétaire Ouest Africaine UEMOA.
